Hello!

I have a Tliltocatl Albopilosus/Honduran Curly Hair that I got about a year and a half ago, and it's about 2.5". I had been feeding it one cricket every week and every week it would take the cricket just fine. But the last couple of weeks especially, I started to notice her abdomen looking extra big and got worried about overfeeding. I decided to skip a couple of feedings and just leave plenty of water, and it's now been 3 weeks and I'm unsure if I should keep waiting to feed or start feeding again. I've heard that their abdomens should be similar width/size as their carapace

Thanks for your input!

Chunky😂😂. Fatter than the sun! 😂

Once a week- no Nazi feeding regimes for me 😉 I feed more frequently at that size, but not so they block out sunlight.

No need to feed that T

That thing could block out so much sunlight that it would get Mr. Burns shot

Already said, but definitely no need to be feeding on a schedule. That is one extremely FAT tarantula.

Generally the abdomen should be roughly the size of the carapace a bit larger is fine.

Overfeeding slings is absolutely fine, the aim is to get them to grow. As they get larger though, there comes a risk of them injuring themselves or dragging thier abdomen if it's too fat.

Make sure you're T has water and don't feed at all at this point. Being as fat as it is, it will more than likely still be pretty big after it moults. At this point remember there is no use for a schedule just keep an eye on the abdomen size and feed accordingly.

Its ok to hold back on feeding. I waited over 3 months to feed again. Just a tiny cricket… everybody is fine, size didnt shrink. Water always available. Its fun not to have feeders to manage.

many molted too. So its safe.
