Literally, I got a Christmas gift right on the stroke of midnight....actually at 12:30, when I got home from a Christmas party. Se7en, my seven-legged G. pulchripes, gave me a molt:

......and now has all EIGHT legs!!!!!! (I don't think I'll be changing her name to Ocho, though)

Yup, it's a girl!!!!! :D :D :D (at least now I won't have to change her name to Sven, LOL)

So, I feel like Santa just brought me two gifts....a molt, and a female confirmation!!! Now, will I get a third gift by this one somehow changing from cranky-bitey spidey to the temperament she is supposed to have??? :p

Merry Christmas, everyone!!!!!!!!!!

My G. pulchripes also had a Christmas molt at around 2 or 3am, along with my S. calceatum, though, none of them have a story like yours. Also got a molt from my I. hirsutum sling a few days ago, not good enough haha. Congrats! :D

One of my P. regalis juveniles molted this morning. Alas, he is male. He came out perfect however.

And I got an x-mess molt, too - my 3.5" P. miranda. Can anyone sex this, though?? I'm having a hard time...

I dunno... it looks male to me. Here's another shot. Anyone else?? (There's a little flap, but I don't think it's a furrow.)

Wow, Dave.....That second pic does make it a bit more difficult.
That first pic had two red nodules on top of what looked like a furrow. But I don't see them in the second. :?

Some quick research indicates that P. miranda spermathecae appear as a very pronounced "flag" atop a furrow, without any obvious nodules, almost like the sails on a boat. I see no evidence of that here. :8o
