I am not sure about anyone else's opinion on this but, does anyone else find Chordeiles minor to be one of those really mysterious critters? Their habits, personalities, looks, etc. It is a truly awesome notch on the Avian tree.

They're definitely pretty cool looking, I don't know much about them other than that. Seems odd for a nocturnal bird to be out in such an obvious place during the day.

I thought they were crepuscular.

I wouldn't know, I googled them for 2 seconds because it looks like a nocturnal animal and wikipedia confirmed my suspicions.

They are pretty different, I agree. They fly in a different way, I see them often at night sitting roads in the desert. I found a nest on the ground one time in central Texas next to a tree, I don't remember much about the nest. I just remembered as I was reading your thread. They remind me of a swift, I've never looked it up, guess I'll do that now. Well OK, a swift after all, they are strange birds to me.

Wiki said crepuscular or nocturnal. I guess it is indecisive lol.
