Here is one of my Chinese Mantids. It has molted 3 times since I found it. Very voracious, it will attack fairly large crickets, grasshoppers and moths that I give it.

nice, its not very pretty yet though, jut wait till it develops wings :D

Yeah I am hoping in a couple more molts it will have its wings in full glory ;)

Nice. Tenodera aridifolia sinensis has size, beauty and is just an all-around awesome mantid species.

How many Chinese mantids do you have, Brian? What size is the one in the pic?

i'm hoping to find a few this fall, i had one last year and released several of its oothecae this spring. hopefully i will find one or two to keep for fun!

At the moment I have 2. The one in the pic is about 2 3/4 in. The other one is about 2/3 the size of this one. I had the mother to these mantids last summer. It produced 3 egg cases that I set out in the yard. These are the only ones that I have found.

It will sit on my hand, shoulder,or cap for hours at a time and groom itself :D
