Isn't it great how tolerant they are of being handled? It's like as soon as they realize you're not going to hurt them they chill right out. I've tong fed one sitting in my hand before.

I know they are really calm. This one is very aggressive when it comes to feeding but its the exact opposite while handling.

Try playing with it in your hand. The last time I did that, I got a finger full of spikes. OUCH :wall:

Neat! Did you raise or gather him?
I collected him in my garage one day while smoking a cig. I looked over and there it was lol. I see them all the time but not this big usually. I have seen bigger though around here.

I had one of those when I was a kid! Found her out in the front yard, a *huge* female. They're really cool pets.

that is a beautiful mantis. I would love to find a decent oen to keep as a pet but i have to many other critters right now.
