I really like those two there. I here the young are about .75 of an inch. Is that right?

And if you have any young out of them, Let me know. I might be able to work something out. :) ;);)

Have I got a deal for you hehehe {D
Send me a PM with your mailing address and I will send you some egg cases this fall or winter. If I can't get any out of this pair I can find others.

You wouldn`t be able to send me some others if you catch them, huh?

I`d surely like that! And are the eggcases free?

Yep the eggs are free. I can usually find several in the fall and winter. If I find another adult I can send it as well but they are a little harder to find since they blend in with the vegatation so well

If you find some grass and stuff, Get a dip net, You can catch some really cool things!

How do you think I catch my Red Striped jumping spiders?

Please try that and let me know! Thanks!!!

For jumping spiders I always just scooped them up in a jar. But mantids I just let them walk on my hand (if I can find them)
They are about 3/4 inch long when they hatch and one egg case will usually have more than you will want to take care of.

Awsome pics Brian, I really can't wait to keep those sensational predators. I love the way they will stare at you with an almost curious hunger. :)

I dunno if this is a "Chinese" mantid (or even what one is), but talking of staring at you... lol.

(Unfortunately I've still my mantids classified under dictyoptera... I'm just a bit behind the times.) ;)

I guess this is a Chinese mantid like the one in the above pics? Had it for some time last year, unfortunately it died after constructing an eggcase.
