That's true, chameleons won't change color to blend in. I guess they just didn't have a better comparison?

Old news. Actually 3 years old. The snake was described in 2005. And it is not a venomous snake... well almost. Duvernoys gland is present, but no enlarged fangs, so not an elapid or anything. The species belongs to the Enhydris genus and was named Enhydris gyii.

Regarding the colorchange. They react just like Cameleons, depending on mood.

My Crotalus o. cerberus changed color depending on temperature and C. viridis do that aswell but perhaps this species is more extreme.

to be honest

i thought it was a type of boa?? much like the brazilian rainbow boa??and its a type of skin i didnt think it actually chANGED COLORS???

So when's it coming to an over priced dealer?

I wonder if their nutrition requirements are as strict as chams?
