So I caught this pede I believe to beof the order Lithobiomorpha, and as I was setting up it's enclosure, I noticed there were pillbugs in the substrate. I figured I would drop in some fish flakes to nurture them as they waited for scraps to clean up. However, Not long after I dropped the flakes in, my centipede started attacking one. I thought maybe a small bug was on it and just happened to find the flake tasty, but soon after he finished it, he crawled out from under his hide and found some other fish flakes and began eating them too! Very interesting stuff. I never knew they'd like fish food.

Have any of you ever seen your pedes eat something out of the ordinary?

Yeah same thing happened to me. I also saw one eat some lettuce. And there are two or three pics floating around of them eating fingers.

I feed my centipedes thawed bloodworm (midge larvae, sold in fish shops to feed fish) from the freezer every couple of months, or when I don't have the usual live feeders. I also offer them fruit and thawed market prawn/shrimp (the latter is also fish food) when the situation calls for it. Centipedes are very opportunistic. Here's a pic (excuse the quality; the pic was taken through scratched old glass):

From what I've seen so far (and as said by my mentors Martin and Chris) a pede will eat most sources of protein available...specially animal protein...

well apparently my guy was famished so i just fed him half a wax worm yesterday and now he's looking great!

it kinda stinks that the other orders of pedes besides Scolopendromorpha don't get much love on these boards
