I have recently taken in a small centipede I found roaming my house[I haven't the slightest clue what species] and this evening I found him in his little shallow water bowl. I made sure he's alive, he's just chilling kind of halfway under the sponge that's in the bowl too and not really wanting to come out. Is this normal centipede behavior? Do I need to moisturize his tank more often? Or is this a sign of illness? Thank you for any help in advance!

Post some pics of the centipede and your set-up. It’ll help us better understand why the pede is acting like this :)

Sorry it's been awhile, forgot I even made this post :sorry: but I ended up letting him go outside[I've seen a bunch of pedes just like him roaming the woods behind our house and I figured that's where he came from] but here's what he looks like.

I find my pedes chilling in their water dishes all the time, when i have them with dishes. Cant remember who, i think NYAN, has a heros who almost always chills in its water dish

I'm late to the party but yes, the centipede in the water dish thing is totally normal. It's a common occurance in my mini zoo.
