So here's what I'm planning to use as a breeding enclosure for my upcoming centipede breeding projects.

Does it look good or do I need hard places underneath the rocks for the males to spin their sperm webs?

I've used similar setups in my last tryouts. Didnt see much success then but i'll try it again soon. What do you think about dark hiding places? I've made quite a few, actually i didnt think centipedes would openly breed in an aera so opened. Hopefully it works out good for you, let us know :).

one thing

i have seperate enclosures for introductions and for breeding

my introduction enclosures have virtually nothing in them. i want to be able to break up any tussles as easily and quickly as possible.

my breeding cages have a bunch of crap in them.

also, bob is right. i am pretty sure gala actually has vid posted of spermatophoric transfer

Not a bad idea.

I've seen the enclosures that Gala uses for his centipedes, but I can't tell if the bottom is sandstone or a sandy substrate.

The only stuff I trust around here to be pesticide free is cocobark and stuff I can sterilize myself so sand is pretty much out.

The rocks are scrubbed with soap mixed with a 10% bleach solution, sprayed down liberally with a household hydrogen peroxide solution, rinsed with 91% alcohol, soaked in bleach for four hours and then heated to 400*F and rinsed with the alcohol solution one more time. I've had no problems with pesticides (or parasites) this way, and I plan to keep it this way.

Oh...and everything's going to be superglued in the final setup
