I still have 8 cecropia moths in there cocoons. is it normal for them to come out this late? how late should i wait before I should worry something happened to them? I have them in a Large box with wire mesh sides out side so they get the heat and moisture.

cool spring

I see you're in Maryland and we had a pretty cool spring, so they might be just a few weeks behind. Unless for some reason all your cocoons were parasitized, they should hatch. It'll be worth the wait.

p.s. if in a couple weeks they still aren't emerged, PM me and I'll help you through checking them by opening the cocoons, but at this point it's probably safer to just leave them alone.

ok, 3 of them I raised myself and 5 of them I ordered from another person online. I know mine don't have parasites cause they were raised in a massive bottle. And at some point in time ive felt them spinning within there cocoon (both ordered and raised)
