hey, i posted a while back about this. my cecropia moths still have yet to emerge from there cocoons and im getting worried now that they wont, and might be dead. I know the wiggled about back in the spring so they dont have parasites. I think im just gonna see if i can order some eggs.

yeah dude its way to late for them to be hatching and i think its a tad bit late to try to riase them up from eggs... wait till next year

I opened there cocoons and there dead.... :(

over a year of taking care of them and waiting, constantly waiting....

Happened to me a while back with my Polyphemus... it was because it was too dry. :8o Last year I found a caterpillar, raised it, but let it go in the spring (not voluntarily but still), it was a female and she left a few eggs. (It was a good "deal").
I have three nice third instar caterpilars now. Hatched July 3rd, second instar one the 9th, third on the 17th, still waiting for L4. I'll probably put them in a screen box for the winter and spring, on top of a flower pot (with plant, for humidity) and try to catch wild males if I have females. {D
