Figured I’d make a thread for this group of breeding age Geosesarma cf. dennerle of mine.

shown is a 2.2 group doing well in a small quarantine tub! They’ll be moved into the larger breeding 28qt tub with two seperate ponds probably this week now that’s there’s been no issues.

and an example of a gravid-female separation tub so that crablets and females are safe to be released without predation! 22765260-EC64-43A2-8A18-DCBF584FC33F.jpeg

Brackish or fresh water? How often will you have to change the water in the tubs?

Fully Fresh water; never need any salt. And they do well all sorts of in between they generally don’t foul up water very bad at all and mainly only use it to molt in. Sometimes evaporation is main drive to add new water in sone of my tanks.

Fully Fresh water
I swear, I gotta stop browsing these forums or else I'll end up wanting a million pets...

I've always been afraid of crabs because I thought they needed salt/brackish water, and keeping that stuff clean and at the right salinity is a pain

There are a lot of fully freshwater species, keeping them is quite rewarding. I suggest you dive deep into it.

I love vampire crabs. I'm going to be building a paludarium to keep some - whenever I have the time and money to do so. Have you bred them before?

Cute! Had to talk myself out of picking some of these up last weekend, I'm just not prepared. To give up spider space, that is.

D'oh, now that's just downright bloody adorable....how the hell does one not instantly want a tank full of these little critters after setting eyes on that pic? C'mon, now...
