It just stopped raining so I decided to take a stroll and found this little toad. Ill post pics later but would it do well eating tiny crickets or would I need smaller? Thanks!
Depends on how big it is. Offer prey that's about that long as the distance set ween his eyes. I imagine they would be just fine. If you can get him to take them from tongs you can try cutting nightcrawlers to the appropriate size and tong feeding them
Anything it can fit into its mouth it will go for. Crickets and small worms are good feeders. If you don't know what kind of toad it is, post a couple of shots, both dorsal and ventral. The presence or absence of belly spotting, and whether or not the paratoid glands touch the post orbital ridges (the raised "crests" behind the toad's eyes) will help you identify the species. Since you're in OH, I'd guess its either an American toad or Fowler's toad.
