Caught a Frog

Just caught a little frog in my backyard. Almost ran the little guy over with my lawnmower. Can anyone ID? I'm thinking of buying a critter keeper and keeping him, but i'm not sure what to feed him, how to house him etc. Any help of any sort would be awesome. Thanks

looks like rana pipiens to me. leopard frog. I had about 30 at one time as a kid

Yeah here in canada you can get fined by forest rangers if you get caught taking one of thoses home.

aleopard frog need at least a 20 gallon long tank oif you are planning on keeping him. It will need to be half land/half water. Really isn't a good pet type frog, a small tree frog would be better.

Or a green frog. Leopard frogs are quite jumpy and remain so in captivity(in contrast, green/bronze frogs eventually tame down enough to take food from your fingers).

let the little guy go when i read that you needed a big tank that had to be half water half land. I thought i could just keep him in a little tank and watch him go. Thanks for the replies though guys.
