This is a first for me...

I have a pet, we'll call it a cat, as it acts similar to one. Anyway, it turned over my trashcan in the basement and found a dead and dried up tarantula whereupon it chewed it up before I could take it away. By that time, it was too late.

It's vomited up pieces of it and now its drooling and wiping its tongue with its front feet. Is there anything I can do to help with the reaction from the urticating hairs? Benedryl perhaps? I also have metacam on hand.

i dunno if there is anything that will help.
i would just keep an eye on the vile creature for the night to make sure its mouth dosen't swell up.

edit...maybe some catnip to help it forget about its situation

good luck

So it sounds like it's not a cat lol I would just watch for the "CAT"'s throat to swell if that happens you may have to take it to the Vet.

So far no sign of throat swelling, thankfully. Other than making it drool and lick its mouth all the time, it's not really affecting is behaviour any, he's still full of piss and vinegar as always. heh

He was drooling, hacking, and licking his mouth till around 11am yesterday morning when it finally subsided enough for him to eat. He's a quick learner though, never went near the trashcan tonight. {D
