Hello I bought my first tarantula 5 days ago, it's a caribena versicolor, however I'm a little worried about it because it does not come out of its tube of web that it made in a corner of the terrarium, moreover I'm not sure that the layout of the terrarium must adapt however it seems stressful for the tarantula to remake its terrarium.she is adult (she has 3 year ) sorry for my english my native langage is french

If it's already made a silk tube then that's good. Let it settle in

Might be getting ready to molt or something, I'd just leave it be. Some will say swap out the mesh top because the toe claws can get stuck, if you do, make sure there's plenty of ventilation and watch how much moisture you add... Nice setup.

Totally natural behaviour as well a really pretty and good setup you've made.

If it's your first tarantula then keep calm, she will be in that web tunnel most of the time, so much more enjoyable when you catch her doing something else. Tarantula being a tarantula.

All fine

why are you expecting it to come out?? Sounds like you don’t know too much about these animals, suggest you do more reading.

sorry if the question seemed naive, I of course inquired but this structure of canvas seemed a little particular to me among breeders I had often heard of hammocks and tubes but the tubes were mainly used for moulting and was located at the top of the terrarium but of course I was totally prepared for the idea of not seeing her often. When it came to arranging the terrarium it seemed to me that I hadn't put enough things up high which worried me a little but in any case thank you very much for your answers, I'm reassured

Just a heads up, many advise getting the care requirements down for the T and live plants separately before combining the two. T would appreciate more leaves to create web tunnels on on up higher. Leaves on the bottom will become hiding places for feeders. I’d definitely replace the mesh as they can get their little claws stuck in there. Mine loves hanging out on the ceiling. Great T, all the best!

ok thank you for the advice I will try to buy plastic plants even if I am not a fan but I will try to do the best for the tarantula, for the living plants I allowed myself to use some because I had the habit of terrarium planted for my other invertebrates and the philodendron scandens on the ground should quickly gain height

ah and for the story of the mesh on the exo terra I hesitated for a long time but I heard from experienced breeders that this did not pose a problem for arboreals and that it was necessary to largely favor the ventilation offered by this mesh, but I have plexiglass if you think it's really too dangerous

It’s true it’s a bigger problem with heavy bodies terrestrials, but I just don’t take the risk. Perforate the acrylic/plexiglass well to keep good ventilation. Those enclosures have vents at the door there, too, for that chimney effect. (Sorry I’m spacing the technical term). Also, be prepared for your plants to be covered in webbing, lol.

Nice looking enclosure. Don’t worry about it, it’ll move when it wants to. It might come out more at night or in the dark
