I've come into possesion of four very large carabids...the non stinky type ;)

Does anyone know what I need to do to encourage mating and egg laying?

I don't know, but I am going to buy a kritter keeper today now.

I'll post pics. Ummm...any sort of specific substrate or will cocobark work?

What should I feed the larvae?

Will they come to the surface or will I have to dig them out with a magnifying glass?

They'll eat pinheads, I'm assuming, right?

If not, will mealworms be OK to leave in there with them?

coco bark is fine, the larva will come to the surface now and then(mainly at night) you will see them slinking about, remove them, seperate each one, they will eat pinheads, small mealworms, waxworms, sometimes you'll have to prekill some of the prey so they can catch it,or do what i do and freeze the food item down alittle(so ya don't have to squish them:) good luck:D yeah definitly pics of these beetles, courious to what kind they are:drool:
