sorry to post this here, but here is good since ill direct my question to Ts (i also posted in the insect forum, but that place is dead)

i bought a Can O' Grasshoppers, would they be safe to feed to my Ts? it smells like Alpo when i open it. they dont list any additives to them on the side pannel.
they advertise them for birds, reptiles and fish.
who would have thought their exoskel was so tough, or is that just b/c theyve been freeze dried?

i don't see why canned crickets would be bad...you may have to tie strings around their little dead legs and dangle them in front of your tarantula, though...

and hey, if your tarantula isn't fooled and won't eat them, all is not lost. you can put some music in the background and reinact "swan lake" or something...

Only thing I see as a downside is that they will be all dried out and therefore your Tarantulas wont get any moisture from them. Although you usually they get it from their water dishes its always good for them to get the good juicy stuff inside the crickets/grasshoppers too. But i dont see why it would hurt your tarantulas.

They smell like "Alpo" because of the drying process
and I think they use meat based additives too:D
Try it ,the T may not eat it, mine didn't.

Then theres always a reinactment.........
of the biblical plague of locust;P

my bad about the grasshoppers.

well, my only suggestion is to offer them to your tarantula. if it takes it, cool! if not, well, at least you know...

let us know what the final outcome is.
