does anyone know the scientific name of those candycane tree snails you see in the southern U.S? I'm trying to get my hands on a few live ones since they seem pretty large as far as North American land mollusks go and we can't get the giant african land snails here in the u.s (If I move just a few miles from where I live now I'll be able to, though ). It seems no matter where I look I can barely get any information on them using the common name, so a binomial name would be a big help. Also do any of you know of any other large land snails/slugs in the U.S (besides banana slugs, of course), since the USDA doesn't prohibit inverts that are indigenous to the country and aren't CITES protected (to the best of my knowledge). Thanks
