Canadian trying desperately to find spiders

Hi all!

I'm currently trying to find literally any species of jumping spider that is larger than the ones I can catch wild where I live. I have a bunch of tiny jumpers that look kind of like zebras and I love them but I really want a p. regius or p. audax (I'd also like a hyllus giganteus but I get the feeling they are rare). I used to be terrified of spiders, but I knew that most of them were harmless so I started handling every spider I found to "cure" my fear and it worked (also don't worry there are no dangerous spiders where I live). Problem is that it worked too well and now I love them as much as I love my cats.... maybe even a little more lol.

Anyways I'm just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction for actually finding some of these wonderful animals. I know we have classifieds here but I think I'm too new to post there as I don't have an option for it yet. I'm already checking tarantulacanada every single day in hopes that they will get something in that I really want but I think I've unfortunately fallen in love with spiders that are really hard to find (I also want an Eresus and I know they are very rare). So far 90% of the sites I find are in the United States and even though some of them seem to be willing to ship them to me I'm afraid that they wont survive the long trip, especially with COVID locking everything down. Moreover, our customs seem to have very strict rules on spiders which has put up another barrier to getting one.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Dang, I'd advise just wild-catching an audax but I reckon they're rare up around the Soo. I suppose you could always take a trip down to southern Ontario where they're more common, but even then it might take a few days of hunting. They do crop up for sale sometimes, too. There's a guy in Fenwick that breeds them but I have no idea if he's legit.

I suggest joining the Canada subforum here and posting your question there - someone might have a lead.
