Well, some of them in Manitoba, anyway. ;)

There will post more tomorrow, we need to get a cord for Lelle's camera, but here are mine. :) I also included the results from when we were frogging the other night... very cool little guys. Gotta admire how hardy they are!

Snakes from Narcisse, Thamnophis sirtalis parietalis. We saw just 7, but pretty good considering people told us not to bother looking until the end of April. ;)






Rana sylvatica and Pseudacris maculata (we think).

Pretty little garter snake, love their look. Hope to see more pics when you guys go herping at the end of April.

I knew herpes came from Canada... trying to take over the world....

Nice finds! I really like some of those frogs. It looks like you might have a good year for herps. Thanks for sharing.

what kind of temps were you having with all the herps/amphibs out? any clue what happened to the den with all the deceased snakes? awesome frogs too! were those their normal colors or breeding colors? makes me want to get out and look around but it has been rain.......rain.......rain.....and cooler temps in the 50's and 60's here.

The temps when we found the frogs was between 6-10c, the temp when we found the snakes around the same.
I guess its breeding colors on the frogs. however according to some americans they usually are not this brightly colorored.
