Hi

Its a longhorn beetle (family Cerambycidae), though unfortunately I don't recognide the species. If the bark is imported it my not be a native to your region.

Yes, it is Cerambycidae beetle. Probably Plagionotus arcuatus (I can't check their distribution in North America). This specie is common in Europe on dead oak branches.

Thanks for the replies. I think the cork bark ordered is from Chesapeake Bay in the U.S. It also might be native to where I live in San Antonio, Texas?

I know only two Plagionotus species native to N. America:
Plagionotus pulcher Blessig, 1872
Plagionotus christophi Kraatz, 1879
but my knowledge of your fauna is rather poor.

I can't be sure that this is exacly P. arcuatus but it looks almost similar to those in my collection. Maybe it is invasive specie in this area.
