Can you feed trapdoor spiders blue hornworms twice a week for every week? Is this okay for a trapdoor spider's diet? Just curious, since I might get a trapdoor spider.

They aren't prey I typically picture them taking. Most trapdoors are very shy to large vibrations and only take prey that is relatively small, like crickets.

Trapdoors so not need to eat regularly, a large cricket once every week is plenty, unless the specimen is very thin when it arrives, in which case I offer food ever night until it is a healthy size.

What trapdoor species are you thinking of getting?

I personally find crickets hard to manage... is there any other feeder that fits a trapdoors appetite then? :hungry:
Roaches and mealworms often burrow out of sight and aren't easily digestible to trapdoors, crickets are pretty much the ideal option for them as they walk around alot without digging and inevitably walk over a trapdoor's burrow, and can't climb up the enclosure like a roach.

A small container of them from a petshop would last a trapdoor quite a long time if you give a piece of fruit and a milk bottle lid as a water dish
