Not too long ago I found this rather large (1 inch) female wolf spider near the lake next to our town. I live in Hussar Alberta. It was in a little burrow/ hole in loose sand and small rocks. I believe it's a species of burrowing wolf spider but not sure Wich one. Never found any before just thin legged Wolfies around here. When I found this lovely girl I also found a few others under rooks or wood around the shore so they must be semi common. Maybe I just didn't look hard enough before.
