Can scorpions see red light?

I just got my first scorpion yesterday and am curious if a red light over the tank would prevent him from coming out of his hide at night. I know it does not bother centipedes as my Scolopendra dehaani, who immediately hides if my room light is on, comes out all the time with it on. They are totally separate groups of inverts though and any input is appreciated

I'm not sure if it's because they can't see it or not but red light hasn't seemed to bother my scorpions. I highly recommend a red light if you want to spy on them at night.

Tarantulas, true spiders, etc. can't see red light (at least the species I have worked with), so it would make sense that scorpions can't.

Thanks,

I have used red light bulbs for viewing spiders at night before, one word of warning however, im not sure if these ARE available in USA ,but if clear visibility is reqyuired, avoid use low watt pygmy incandescents, they simply dont produce adequate illumination, though the later design LED versions likely do,and without the unrequired associated heat of incandescents, and longer operational life as a bonus.i intend to use red led lighting to view my scorpions nocturnally also.
