Can mealworms eat spoiled bean and be fed to other animals safely?

I submerged some chicken peas few days in water to use as hamster food but they've gone sour and bubbly(Not moldy or rotten) so I gave them to mealworms as extra water and food source.
How long does it take for the worms to digest the organic material fully and be used safely for feeding?
