Well I found this spider living in my car and decided to catch it. Anyone know what it is? Body characteristics are that of a jumping spider, but eye pattern is atypical. Lacks large anterior median eyes. Ab is highly reflective to light. It's about a 1/2" big.

Any clue?

Yeah, JPD got it. It's Clubiona robusta, I think. A robust sac spider. Excellent pic. Cool eyes.

Is this a typical reaction from a bite from the Sac Spider? Or was this guy just unlucky like some people who are bit by recluses or such?
Necrotic arachnidism is something that can occur with this type of spider, however, I think that this, as you eluded to, is a relatively rare occurence. All of the symptoms and description that you provided via the link to the article are ones that I have seen described before.

Interesting.... I just found the same species of spider in my apartment. Rather, I am assuming they are the same (sure look the same):

They do look very similar Ryan, thanks for the pic.

That article was very helpful also. Thanks fenris. This is one quicker bugger too. Turns meal worms black in 24 hours after bitten.

Have fun with it JPD.
