That's interesting. I took an undergraduate down to Florida for field collecting and he found something that had a very similar body shape to that. The colors were quite different though. I think it is from the genus Euclea.
start checking moths from your area and try to match to the right caterpillar. the Io moth caterpillar, for example, looks similar in that it has the venomous protective spines.
