my sunflowers and carnivorous plants are doing well, but ive always had a liking for cacti. here where i live its about 76 degrees in the day and 60 at night, when summer comes it will be about 83, sometimes 54 at night.
so im looking for a good cacti to grow, preferably cereus species, i love tree like cacti, i would prefer a wide tall single "stem" tree like cacti, i have a lot of time and can handle a high maintenance plant.

thanks for your time

Are you wanting to put something in a pot or do you want to plant one in the ground? Is there a reason you don't want to say what state you are in? I think it would help people with their answers. What kind of winter do you experience there? Get a lot of rain? I have a couple of cereus cacti. I have them in pots. No blooms yet but I noticed there is a lot of info on them on the internet, some cool pics too, some huge!

Im in california, didnt even think of telling, not intentionally. we at the most and very rarely get a piece of snow, and thats it. not a lot of rain, maybe once every month or if what i call a storm week happens, then there will be rain, but generally that doesnt happen. for instance its been storm week and no rain so far. it gets about mid 50s to low 50s at night and high 60s, mid 70s in the day normally, however ive seen 90 in the summer, which is coming up.
i got confused with terms, but still like cereus, i like the big ones with no cacti branches that are wide and tall.
