Anyone know what the common name for C. margaritatus is? I thought it was a type of bark scorpion, but I wasn't sure which type.

A lot of times they come into the US in shipments and are called "Central American Gold scorpions".

I'm not a fan of common names anyhow, but this one seems as ridiculous as any of them.

Cheers,

I like the common names because I can not translate the scientific name into Chinese here.
We call it as Mexico bark scorpion here in China.

Why do you think scientific names are used all over the world?? So there is no need to translate them.....

The only problem with that name is that there are several species of "Mexican Bark Scorpions".

Yes, it's like C, He or Ag. Most people who know some sience understand these, it's the same as with the real names for scorpions.

Carbon, helium and silver.

Most places around here call them Central American Bark Scorpions, however I prefer the name Guatemalan Gringo Killer.
