Found 2 C. gracilis last Saturday:

female, bottom of cup has a diameter of 9 cm.

rock she was hiding under (against the stone, didn't see her at first).

rock (in front) a male was hiding under

male

female again

I guess I did the right ID on both, C. gracilis. I love the female, much bigger compared to my other scorpions (C. flavopictus mainly).

We asked local people if we could find scorpions there, and a guy said: if you look, you'll find them :}

Saw also two black widows

Very nice indeed!, you are both living in great places to find scorpions. I have yet to discover any up here, lol.

The people living here think a bit different about that. {D You should have seen the faces everytime we ask where we can find scorpions...

Yeah I know what you mean, alot of people I have spoken with from Mexico are really scared of the "alacranes amarillos" They think I am crazy for trying to find them.

Ya and if you did they'd probably be scorpcicles, or frozions.
Darrell.

I recently read that C. vittatus can handle close to zero (C) temperatures.

The "Durango scorpion" is probably any yellow species of scorpion found around there, I know that there is at least more than one yellow species in that area.
Darrell.

P.S. when I lived in colorado, I actually found scorpions (C. vittatus) after a spring snowstorm under rocks with icy cold dew all over them. They sure were easy to catch.

I would love to be able to keep that species, one of my all time favorites.
