my 2.25 just molted today and now is just about 3 inches. New in this molt it now has hooks on its from two legs. Does that mean male? My pictures aren't the best, but here they are. Also, this is my temporary substrate until I go to get some more.

Yup, that is a mature male. I can see his boxing glove pedipalps in those pictures. Maybe you can find him a female and breed them. Beautiful T and nice pics!

he's very cute! I have a female, not sure if it's mature or not...it's around 3", so probably not.

That is just an all around bad substrate, I know you said it was temporary..but id put down some papertowels instead :)

Congrats on your new one, very nice :)

actually a few days ago, I put him in a paper towel enclosure before it molted so there would be no problems molting. I am getting new stuff tonight. :D

I wouldn't be surprised if it's mature. They don't get that big. I had one make a sack and it was only about 3-3.5". Not an expert just my exp. :)

ok, that'll work, just as long as it's not on it too long :) I know petshops tend to have them on that, and it doesnt seem to bother them, for the most part. But I just wouldnt take any chances. ;)

You moved him that soon after a molt? That isn't much time for him to harden up.

it molted over night actually, but I call it today. It has been at least 12 hours, and all I did was put the smaller open container in the bigger one and let it walk out. :) no touching.
