I really enjoy photographing butterflies an moths in the wild.I have about 1,200 photos of species. I would like to be able to keep a few species. I know a lot about life cycles, husbuandry, and diet for numerous species. The problem is that I have no idea how to get larvae.

I know that for a lot of the really interesting species one needs USDA clearance. But if one gets that clearance how does one go about finding a supplier. Is this more of a UK hobby? Any imput? In case you did not get a chance to look at them here are a few random pictures I have taken. Some with a pretty crappy cam. If anyone on here keeps them I would love to see pics of setups :)

Sorry I don't have more pics. to share these are all I have on my gfs computer.

i have luna moths waiting for spring and I know a person that does supply some moths/butterflys, http://www.silkmoths.bizland.com/billoehlkesites.htm
you need a usda/aphis liscense to transport against state lines or from out of country. you can always post an add to try to get a supplier thats in the states. try to get a liscense to send bugs just within the country, importation is harder to get.

Hey, Tobacco Worm in the 2nd pic. I used to grow those guys in my backyard on my tomato plants. Very cool species.

I don't think native species are any issue in the USA in my experience, just non-native species (which would entail also importation laws, save for some non-natives that have appeared in southern states).
