My b.auratum has made a burrow under it's waterdish. Is this gonna be a problem? It kick the substrate up to the dish itself, so I figured its making a very big burrow under there. If I had know this, I wouldn't have place the waterdish at the edge of the tank. Should I move the dish now? I don't want it to fall on the T.

I have a couple T's with 2 or three waterdishes in them.
T's seem to undercut them with burrows alot.. :?

Check this one out.

my h lividum made a burrow under its waterdish aswell, i wouldnt be worried at all. making thir burrow under the dish probably makes the t feel more secure since they have something solid over their burrow

My A. moderatum did the same thing. I just left the water dish in there. Its dry now. He sits in it alot. Its the roof to his burrow so I don't want to mess with it. I just gave him another water dish on the other side.
I'm sure he'd get over it if I took it out though.

In the wild I find many many terrestrial [true spider though] and scorps under rocks and thats normaly where the locate their burrow aswell. So why not T's IMO they'd find it just as appealing as true spiders and scorps after all its conceals the entrance?

I don't know what it is, but all of my G. rosea's like to do that. They'll burrow under the water dish and half the time it ends up collapsing from the weight of the water dish. Luckily the T wasn't in there when it did.

Not sure why they do it, but whatever they want to do is fine with me. I figure if it makes them comfortable, i'll let them do it.
