I got a new snake today
I went to petco yesterday to get some crickets for my tarantulas, and as usual I just had to check out their reptile section. They always just have pink and orange baby corns, but this time they had a beautiful brown/pinkish corn, it was love at first sight. I all but dragged my self from the display and went to pay for the crickets lol. I ended up going to petco again today to get some new bedding for my other cornsnake, Alexis, and again, the brown baby was just staring at me.
I decided to get it (I have a spare tank and all other nescesities), but everything sort of went wrong when the guy came to take it out
The guy had problems getting it out, then getting into the box, and once it the box it just about teleported it self out of it and proceded to fall on the floor. The guy made a dive for it, but the snake was quick and got under the display units (which was about an inch above the floor) and disapeared
So the guy's still trying to get it out without much luck, gives up and goes put the plant/hidey back on the tank with the other baby corn. Then he lifts up the water dish and there's this huge tangle of baby corns there and asks me if I'd like to get one of those instead because the other snake might take a while to get out of there. The babies where all mostly the usual pink and orange, but there was this beautiful dark brown/orange baby that caught my eye and decided to get that one instead.
The first thing it did once I took it out of the box when I got home and got his set up ready was bite me. 3 times. I was more shocked and amused than anything, because the tiny pin pricks were hardly painful, but geez! He's got such a temper. During the time I was holding him he bit me 8 to 10 times, before he calmed down a bit.
After he calmed down considerably, I began looking him over and noticed a bump on his tail :/ It's hard, like if one of his bones was sort of sticking up. It doesn't appear to bother him at all, he moves the tail normaly it doesn't seem to hurt him. Is this just some birth defect or should I seriously be worried?
Here's a couple of pics, it was hard to keep him still for long (although he was a lot nicer than my other cornsnake who behaves like a fish tanken out of water whenever I take her out)
Bump aside, I really like this little bugger
He's so cute, and he's got the cutest mark on his head, something like an angel holding a heart
lol. The flash made the colors look a lot lighter than they actually are, the first picture is more true to his colors.
And another question. Do any of you have any experience with keeping two corns on the same tank? I'd really like to have them together, they're pretty much the same size.
