Does anyone watch this show by chance? I was curious of course because I saw a interesting bug. For those who do watch toward the end of this episode after the flea circus he goes to see a man with a rose hair who shows him some movie magic with bugs by minipulating the movment of the rosy by touching it. After this rudd has a bug of his own(it looks like a true spider hence the reason I thought to post it in here) on him and shows that his bug may have what it takes to be a star by touching it and saying that it is able to flatten itself out which it does. It looks like a spider but im not sure any one here know what bug he had in his hand? The show just aired on wednesday on animal planet. I know its a long shot but I thought you guys might have seen it.

I'm wondering the exact same thing. Looked like a really cool looking spider. Wouldn't mind having a couple myself.

Yep, I saw it too. I was expecting to see a tarantula at first, but when he started handling a true spider instead, I thought it was pretty cool. And yes, I would like to know what it is so I can possibly acquire one as well :D.

I have my DVR set up to record every episode. :D It isn't a very technical show, but it is definately the best bug series I've seen. I could definately be wrong, but I think that the spider he had was a variety of huntsman. Similar to this species:

I also think I have seen similar spiders for sale here recently in the classifiedes.

I saw bits and pieces of it....At the begining, when he was holding a "T blondi"......yea that thing looked NOTHING like a T blondi, I don't know what it was, but to me it looked more like G aureostriata. That piece made me annoyed to the point to where I really didn't pay much attention to the rest of the show. :wall:

I Really dont think it was a gold knee (G aureostriata), as it had bright red markings on the knee. It looked like marking you would see on some type of Brachypelma, but I dont know of any Brachys that get as big as that.

I do remember seeing a picture of a T Blondi online that had red markings on the knee like that. Maybe it was in fact a Blondi?

thanks guys for the replys I have to agree with bug toxin so far thats what I thought the spider was too. Especially since that's the hosts place of origin the the only difference is that this huntsman was not skittish at all. Hmmmm

Knees looked..well, "gold" to me, but might have been red, who knows, but look of the spider(besides the markings) resembled nothing of blondi.

Somebody should check out the animal planet website. Under the Buggin' section it lists the insects in the show.
Before I saw Buggin, I used to think Steve Erwin was a dork! Rudd takes it to all new levels. You gotta love it, though.

Well I went to the source as at times like this seems to be the only way the "bug" in question is a Delena cancerides aka Avondale Spider origanally a sp of huntsman from Australia. Well I hope this satisfies thanks again to all for the interest :)
