Brown Widow?

I found this little [strike]guy[/strike] Girl at work today. She has the classic shape of a widow with the huge abdomen. She is about 3/4" legspan.

Nope, SHE is good ole' Parasteatoda tepidariorum, the common American House Spider. They ARE in the same family of cobweb weavers as the true Steatodas and Latrodactus spiders, however, and have that same basic body shape and web design(or lack thereof). This is probably one of the most common spiders found indoors in North America, and quite harmless other than their ubiquitous and messy webs.
