Broken fangs

I have a subadult theraphosa stirmi with two broken fangs. She grabs and kills her prays but leave them a few minutes later without eating them as there's no way to inject the venom.
The thing is how to make her survive until next molt.
I tried to give her several different things to eat such eggs, liver... But she does the same thing than with the crikets, hold it for a while and leave it in one corner.
Do you know anything I could give to her?

Yep, you can make bug soup - pulverize the prey and add some water to make it easier for the T to suck up some nutrients.

It may not really be necessary, though... What is the overall condition of the T? Is it plump or thin? Have you seen it drinking normally? How long ago was the last molt?

Do you know how the fangs got broken?

Thanks I'll try but the thing is that she can smash them with the have size fangs she still has, so I'm not sure if getting her to that point since the begining would help, but I'll try tomorrow anyway.

Not sure how they broke but was after her molt a month ago or so. She is thin, and very very hungry, in fact, except for the broken fangs she is a theraphosa.
She drinks normally.

Yeah, if she only molted a month ago, you're going to have to try something. It's good that she's drinking - she would die of dehydration before she starved to death. Let us know how she responds to the bug soup. It may be something she isn't interested in at first, but if she gets hungry enough and is able, she should accept it at some point.

I've had this happen with large tarantulas biting and pulling on ventilation slats

It may or may not die. I think it will die. Had a T that lost both fangs after a molt. Was never interested in stationary food. Good luck

This may be a ridiculous suggestion, but I was thinking about the refusal to take inanimate food...

I wonder if you could agitate something - I don't know, a long stem or leaf or similar - and cover it in the bug soup, so if she lunges for the 'prey', she ends up getting something nutritious... 🤔

A member here was able to keep a paralyzed tarantula alive by doing the bug soup @NMTs said.

so it is all about giving it a try.

you can put the mush in a seperate bowl.

depending on how it takes to the mushed food, or decides to molt again, you could always try syringe feeding it through a catch cup.

its all about determination on your side, and having realistic expactations.

its a good sign its drinking though. Making new fangs has got to take a lot of energy versus a leg.

if this happened to me, i’d give anything a try at this point. If only to learn a thing or two.
