Hi all,
I've only been keeping spiders for a few years and I recently had my first experience with breeding. I have a female Diplura sp. Rurrenabaque that laid an egg sac after 3 successful matings. Unfortunately the sac was apparently well hidden in her enclosure, so I had no idea it was there until I saw dozens of 2nd instar babies sitting on the bottom of the tank. She appears to be ignoring them, but she just dropped another egg sac. Since this is my first time breeding spiders, I'm not too sure what to do. I can't get to the existing slings without completely tearing down the enclosure, which I obviously don't want to do since there is a fresh sac that she is guarding at the moment. Should I leave the older slings in there until the next batch hatches? Should I tear down the tank and remove the old babies and the new sac?

personally i'd empty that enclosure out and sort the babies into their own little enclosures to avoid cannabalism, i think those diplura babys are worth a bit

I would get them all out those would be a not good species they are really beautiful to loose a bunch of them. Get all your delicups/vials and get them separated, im sure you can get some out carefuly, or get the egg sac out carefully without damaging it. They are supposed to be very fast so not sure how much of a challege those slings will be.
