I just caught 25 of these guys down in my canyon, and was wondering if I could breed them to get a "feedable" mealworms? I get Latteralis roaches from a friend that breeds them, but would like to get some mealworms :D If I cant use them for food, I still want to breed them, so ive got it set-up with whole oats, some paper towel, and carrots/ thick lettuce.

Dang, 25! Where are you!! I caught a couple a while ago. I never got them to breed mealworm style, but they are hardy beasts.

In San diego lol. I live near a canyon and im always down there. No T's or scorps, but I went out when it got dark with a flashlight and went down a trail for about 30 minutes and everytime I go from one side to the other theres more all over the trail lol. Ive seen them breeding, but I wonder what kind of babies they have...

Just remembered I posted this a while ago, and well....I forgot the beetles in a big round deli cup full of oatmeal and a paper towel. I just went outside to check on them after about a month and a half, and theres a whole bunch of babies! Their not like normal darkling beetles though...they had these tiny little worm-like bugs. They didnt look like meal worms, but more like tiny maggots. Then they molted out into tiny beetles at about 1/8". Their pretty cool :D
