Break out the field guides, folks! I'm trying to identify an insect!

I struck out with my own guides and poking around on the internet was not successful. I at first thought it was some sort of weevil, but I'm doubting myself after not finding a similar. It was not very cooperative.

To me it looks like some sort of billbug.

Depending on where you're located, it could be a variation of a fellow called a "Ten Lined June Beetle."
