Anyone ever heard this common name before? This pet shop in my area has a T that is labeled this and it sorta looks like a mexican fireleg but the hairs that are orange on the mexican are more white on the one i saw. It had just molted though. They want $60 for it and it looks to be about 3-3.5 inches. Anyone know what this is?
Here is a mexican fireleg

The only other tarantula that I know of that looks like Brachypelma boehmei is Brachypelma baumgarteni.

I dont think its a brachy... if anything it looked more like a grammostola. One of them looked like just a G. rosea with slightly redder rump hairs.:? I only put up that pic because it had almost the same name and appears to be from the same region based on both these common names. (Mexican fireleg/Brazilian fireleg)

Ask them to let you have a look at their invoice as there is no such thing as a Brazilian Fireleg.

Aphonopelma bicoloratum looks a LOT like B. Boehmi. It's known as the Mexican Bloodleg Tarantula though, I believe. It's apparently one of the most docile of species. They're usually expensive though.

One i saw that had just molted had white hairs over it with a slightly red rump, while the other one i saw just looked like a rosie with a more reddish rump.:wall: I guess i'll have to get a pic.
