I bought 5 Brachypelmas last summer (albopilosum, boehmei, emilia, smithi and vagans) all at 1/2". Last week or two they have all molted but the albopilosum. They are all around 2.5-2.75" or so now and looks like they are big enough for me to sex.
Looks like this is a girl
The vagans was also a girl which I posted a while ago and the smithi was a boy. I'm 90% sure the emilia is a girl also but the molt was kind of mangled so I'll wait for a nice ventral to confirm or the next molt. The albopilosum is premolt so it won't be long till I find out.
I just have to say that I have found this last year extremely rewarding watching these slow growing Ts go from grey/brown/translucent spiders to beautiful creatures. It's like watching a block of marble transform to a wonderful sculpture or an acorn grow to a mighty oak.
Sorry about the long post but it looks as if two of them for sure, will keep me company for many years to come.
