Last night I saw my brachypelma boehmei webbing a lot around his hide. I had a good idea he was in pre-molt so I stayed and waited. This was around 1230 AM. He didn't start to actually move until about 0400 AM. I was about ready to give up, but since I had waited that long I figured I'd wait it out. Well here is the result. I hope you guys like. He was around 3 1/2 inches pre-molt. Haven't got a good look at him stretched out yet so I'm not sure of the size now.

GREAT pics! Did you use a macro ring flash for these? The lighting is outstanding!

Gorgeous specimen!

I used a canon XSI DSLR camera. I used three different lenses.

1. Canon EFS 18-55mm
2. Quantaray AF LD 70-300mm
3. Canon 100mm macro lense

I bought a light box from Wolf camera that has proven its self to be very useful. Two external lights that reflect on a softner. I'm glad you like.

I'm really impressed. I've been hindered by my camera as of late :( It's a Canon s5, and the macro funtion works great, and the focal range is awesome, but the lens casts a shadow over my subjects. And macro flashes are hard to find for my s5 for some reason.

But seriously, really nice pics :)

Yeah, don't get me wrong, I love my S5.... It's just not AS functional as an SLR... :( But it does take stunning pics for a point and shoot.. :) And has some of the same capabilties of an SLR.

Bio, awesome pics. :)

Thats an excellent macro shot without having a macro lense and dslr camera. What size is he/she? what kind of grass is that he/she is on? Is it moss?

This is mine at about .33 inches, which I know the pic isn't so good. And the second pic is him at about 1 in to 1 1/2.
