I did a search on the forum but came up with nothing. I would like to know about the care of these tarantulas. I mean I kind of know but I just want to be sure. They seem pretty simple to care for.

Anything you can tell me would be helpful. In the meantime I am going to look over the TKG to read about terrestrials.

They like it dry so keep the substrate dry. Theses tarantula like the dark and will use the hide. Just make sure you don't handle this species they get frightened very easy and WILL RUN.

I hate when people say "keep it like so and so" because I most likely don't have experience with them so how am I going to keep it like that?

Anyways, I get the idea.

Brachypelma smithi is a much more common species, so there is tons of information on how to care for them. B. auratum are comparatively rare. Hence, "keep it like a B. smithi".

I realize that, thanks.

Very skittish, most flick hairs on the slightest disturbance, beautiful species though! As for keeping like the others said - B. smithi has the same needs as B. auratum.
