Hey guys. I have an adult male BP, 7 scorpions, 1 T, 1 bearded dragon and fish. I just found a way to save a lot of money and I can afford another snake. I want to breed scorpions or T's in the future but I don't think I'll ever breed snakes. Because of the competition and how hard it is to breed them and I'm only 12 XD. So buying scorpions will take me somewhere, but buying another snake will not. But I just love them so much and I already have one and he's the best. I already have a setup for a hognose which I was planning to get at a past expo. So my options are:
-Buy another BP maybe female and a nice morph ( I have a normal right now )
-Get a hognose ( I like them and think they're cute but I like big snakes lol )
-Save my money and work on my scorp business.
Thanks guys :D

Can't go wrong with saving money i guess. And its good to put that money towards something you can build on.

I'd save your money. You just never know if you'll need money for the vet or need to replace equipment.

If you're twelve right now, save. In a few years maybe you could afford an expensive reptile, or use the money to buy many more scorpions

If you plan on making money selling inverts it is very hard. At one time I was breeding and selling several species of scorpions that were not in the hobby at all at the time and have since disappeared from the US hobby. I never did much more than break even. If it is something you are doing for fun, then have at it.

Being that you are only 12 I would maybe go ball python over hognose. Hogs are fantastic, I own 5 myself, but they are rear fanged, and they can be very huffy. They will hiss and strike at the drop of a hat, which can definitely be offputting if you are not used to it. A bite from one can be painful and cause a whole lot of swelling, blisters and possibly other issues. You would have to make your parents aware of this. They can also be picky eaters much like ball pythons.

Thank you everyone for your replies! I think I'll save for now. If I find a great deal with a snake with a good temperament, i'll go for it. Thanks :)

You can save, but you have to be really committed to breeding scorpions if you want to make that a business. This is not an easy business to get into and stay into, and a lot can go wrong quite quickly. If this is your hobby, keep it as your hobby. Don't stress yourself out over a decision that is still years away. Also, if you are going to get more joy out of a snake, go for it. The scorpions will always be there.

That's my two cents anyway.

Thanks,
