Box Turtle Exhibit

Wanted to see what people thought of it. I re built the Eastern Box Turtle exhibit at the zoo.

Here it is. Its supposed to blend in with the rock work below it on the wall.

Here are the turtles. There is also a Garter snake, but I need to build a lid first.

Here's what it looks like when you remove the door.

Here is the water dish/soaking area. It is custom made from rigid insulation foam, epoxy, and a lot of sand.

And here is the valve that drains the pool. It is connected straight to the drain in the room.

very cool designs. Where is it located in your house? and does the glass keep out the smell?

that's gorgeous, dude! nice work!

box turtles make me want to hug them, all turtles do. that's a home I'd happily live in, I envy!

This is actually an exhibit at Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo. The glass does keep the smell away from the visitors, but man it reaks back there some days.

ok i see. i thought you meant u rebuilt it in your home. Like u replicated it. But wow very nice for a zoo!

We are a very small zoo as well. Pretty much all of the renovation have to be done in the winter and all by me. I have a few more exhibits I built but need ot get some pics first.

Hopefully they keep you well funded cause you do some nice work.
