They are in the Lanthanotidae family, so not a true varanid but closely related. I love them, they look like little Godzillas.

They are very rare and very expensive, I just have cool friends lol. There's only a handful in the country iirc

They started to captive breed these in Europe finally. Thought about getting one but semi-aquatic requirement keeps me away for now. They go around 1500 Euros for captive bred babies around here.
