Hey! I’ve had 2 bold jumpers! I had a male that died at exactly 1 year old! But now I have a female. I’ve had her for about 3-4 weeks. I’m going to add that she is wild caught.im also adding that she’s super sweet and loves to be handled! But just about a week ago she was acting really weird, she didn’t really want to be handled and she hasn’t since, she’s super fat, but hasn’t eaten in a week. She has also been making big thick webs and I accidentally didn’t see her web and destroyed it 😭🤦‍♀️and she hasn’t made one since. She isn’t acting sluggish or anything but still......I’m thinking maybe she might be pregnant but I would like to know what everybody else’s opinion buI’m thinking maybe she might be pregnant but I would like to know Some expert opinions. Shes bigger than she looks in the pics. Thank you!

Probably preggo, can we see her enclosure? When she makes an egg sac just don’t disturb her she will sit on it until it hatches. Keep the enclosure rather barren so it makes it easier to get the babies out.

I know it’s not a beautiful enclosure and it’s a bit bare. But I was just getting ready to get a nicer one for her and set it up! It’ll work for now I know but if she does make an egg sack the babies will get out!!

I don’t think it showed the whole photo but that’s it

If you destroyed the nest, don’t panic. She will likely make a new one. Here’s a tip: never move, open, spray, or jostle the enclosure unless you know exactly where the spider is. When they are pregnant they tend not to eat, or if she isn’t an adult she might be about to molt

Before my female had her egg sac she couldn't climb or jump very well, kinda slow moving. Once she did have her egg sac she retreated in her web and I could see her but she wasn't interested in eating until after a few weeks. She stayed with them for around 3 weeks then started coming out to eat and drink.

Hey! Actually Nichole! You were right! She molted This morning! And is now white instead of orange! She’s doing great now! I’ll give her like a week to settle and I’m sure she’ll be back to normal!

Quite common among spiders, the appetite gets switched off to keep mom from predating the offspring.

Glad your spider is okay. The general rule is when your spider starts doing something unusual in an environment where nothing has changed, it knows what it's doing, probably better than you do.

I'm glad all went well, here's a few of mine they're so awesome. I was able to have one eat on my daughter's hand.
Awe! How cute!! I used to have a phobia of spiders until I got a jumper! I don’t know if I’d have the courage to let it eat on my hand still😂 but sure is cool!
